If you’ve spent any time researching sublimation printers, you've probably come across the Epson SureColor F570. You’ve probably seen it around at trade shows, in videos, on Facebook groups, or during a 2 a.m. Google rabbit hole, asking yourself: does the Epson F570 actually live up to the hype?

Spoiler alert: It kinda does.

Kinda?

Okay, I was being conservative. The Epson F570 fully lives up to the hype and then some. What are you waiting for? Click that “buy now” button already.

Whoa there, Cowdude. Let’s ease off the gas and pump the brakes a bit. Let’s find out if the Epson SureColor F570 is really the perfect fit for your creativity.

Yes, the F570 is a beast of a printer. It boasts a desktop-leading 24-inch roll-fed wide-format build that’s made for small businesses, crafty legends, custom gift hustlers, or basically anyone sick of dealing with Sawgrass’s scalper-priced small-format printers.

Let’s be real. The Epson F570 isn’t perfect. We’ll get to that. But really, what is perfect? And should we, as consumers, demand and expect it? Probably. Either way, for a desktop printer in this price range, Epson really brought the heat.

What It Does (in Plain English)

The Epson SureColor F570 was designed, engineered, and built for one thing: sublimation. When you buy an Epson printer, you’re not just buying a machine. You’re buying into an entire ecosystem of Epson products, support, and innovation.

Other competitors in the desktop sublimation space often don’t even build their own printers. They mix and match low-cost parts and slap a private label on them. Not Epson. Epson builds their own printers, makes the components, manufactures the inks, develops the software and print drivers, and even has tech support you can actually call. Sounds good, right?

The biggest flex, the one that would make Arnold blush, is the 24-inch roll-fed printing. Honestly, taping transfers together never felt like a solid option. Now you don’t have to.

Features That Slap

When you hear “24 inches,” you might think, “Where am I even putting this thing?” Don’t worry. The F570 is surprisingly compact for its width. Depending on your craft or shop table, it should fit in just fine. Just make sure your surface is sturdy. Trust me, you don’t want to make this thing angry.

If you want, you can also get the easy-to-assemble stand. Just make sure you read the instructions. Or go hard mode and wing it like I did. I didn’t end up with any extra parts, so I guess I did it right.

Now back to the features that slap. I’m a cable hoarder. I USB-connect everything. But if you’re more into that wireless lifestyle, the F570’s got you covered. It has Wi-Fi, USB, and Ethernet. However you roll, it rolls with you.

Let’s talk print quality. One of the biggest tech issues I’ve seen over the years is something called “banding.” It’s when those annoying horizontal lines show up about every quarter-inch and ruin your prints. Thanks to the Epson PrecisionCore TFP print head, banding gets cut way down. Your colors will pop, and your prints will be consistent every single time. Translation: your prints are going to look fabulous and professional.

Let’s Talk Ink

Inks usually aren’t the sexiest part of a printer, but they matter. And if your budget and future self are important to you, this part will make you smile.

The Epson F570 uses Epson’s UltraChrome DS sublimation inks, packaged in bottles instead of cartridges. Each bottle holds 140ml and is priced reasonably, especially compared to Sawgrass. The refillable ink tank is super easy to top off. Each bottle’s nozzle only fits its matching tank, kind of like those shape toys where the square only goes in the square hole.

Performance-wise, these inks last longer than you’d think. They’re less likely to clog your lines, heads, or nozzles. And just to repeat, your prints will look absolutely fabulous and professional every time.

Another feature worth a shout-out is the built-in cutter. It’s basically magic. I am terrible at cutting straight lines with scissors. Seriously, how do people even do that? With the built-in cutter, you can set it to auto-cut or do it manually after each print. No more weird tears or jagged edges.

What Can You Make with It?

Being boxed in creatively is the worst. Unfortunately, a lot of competitors do exactly that. They limit you to smaller products and smaller prints. You outgrow their printers fast. But not with the Epson F570.

This printer is ready for just about anything with a poly-coated surface. T-shirts? Check. Performance wear? Check. Hoodies, mugs, tumblers, water bottles, and more? You’re good to go. You won’t be stuck with tiny designs or limited product options. Full-bleed prints are no problem at all.

So, does it sublimate, bro? If it’s got a poly surface and you’ve got a design, this printer is DTP. That’s Down to Print.

Is It Worth the Money?

If you’re only making one shirt a year, this probably isn’t the printer for you. But if you’re in hustle mode, this machine can handle nearly anything you throw at it. And if you don’t want to waste cash on a printer you’ll outgrow in a month, the F570 is a solid bet.

You’ll save money in the long run, be less frustrated, and put more energy into growing your business instead of fixing your printer.

Final Thoughts (aka Would I Buy It Again?)

Absolutely. The Epson F570 isn’t flashy. It doesn’t have every modern feature. But it delivers exactly what I need. I don’t have to babysit it. I don’t need some janky bypass tray that misfeeds all the time. I don’t have to tape pieces of paper together just to get a full shirt design.

The F570 is more than just a printer. It’s a reliable partner. And don’t sweat the learning curve. Fumbling through new stuff is how we grow. Epson’s tech support is there when you need it, and there are tons of YouTube videos to walk you through anything.

So yeah. Print on.
